FUN ON THE RUN PAINTBALL PARK REVIEW
|
SAFETY
Safety is always Number 1 at FOTR so they are very strict when it
comes to the wearing of facemasks and goggles. If a player is caught
removing their mask in a “Facemask ON” area, they are given a warning
the first time and made to sit out the next game. A second offense
results in that player being unable to continue playing for the remainder
of that day. The use of barrel socks is also strictly enforced in non-play
areas and violations can also result in the expulsion of the player for that
day. Of course, no physical abuse or contact is allowed under any
circumstance and foul language is prohibited as this field is family
oriented and children are usually present. In line with this emphasis on
safety, a safety briefing is given before each game with specific
instructions and warnings for that specific field. As mentioned earlier,
the chrono limit is 285 fps at this field for paintball guns. The chrono
station is located next to the check-in trailer and is fully enclosed for
safety. A facemask must be worn while having your paintball gun
checked on the chrono. All field guns are chronographed before game
day. Each walk-on player must chrono their gun and be issued a chrono
tape for their gun before they are allowed to play.
The players’ liability waiver is available at the field and online. Save time
and have it filled out before you get to the field!
OTHER
People are welcome to come out to FOTR Paintball Park to play games
other than paintball too! Airsoft is played on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of
each month. Laser Tag and .50 cal games are played by appointment.
Please see the website for full details on these games or call the store
or field for more information.
KID'S FIELD
FOTR Paintball Park is currently
constructing a new children’s field (to
be called “The Sandbox”) next to the
staging area. This field will be for
children age 6 and up and they will be
able to play Splatmaster, laser tag,
airsoft and .50 cal games as well. This picture
shows some of the structures that will be on
this exciting new field.
SUMMARY
Fun On The Run Paintball Park is a great place to play paintball and
other related active sports! The refs are well trained and not afraid of
getting in the middle of a firefight to call someone “out” or “he’s clean.”
Safety is strictly enforced and the family friendly atmosphere is a great
place to spend a day or a weekend having fun! With a wide selection of
varied fields and topography there’s something for everyone here. The
clean restrooms and other amenities (especially with all the
improvements that are on the way) really add to the overall fun and
relaxation of this park.
* 2 out of 9 fields are enclosed with nets for spectator viewing due to
the fact that most of the other fields are in the woods.
** More child friendly areas to open soon.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Criteria:
Safety – Based on how well the wearing of facemasks is enforced; the overall
safety of each field; the chrono limit; quality of safety briefings; rule enforcement.
Friendliness of Staff – Based on how the staff interacts with the players;
amount of time spent between games; helpfulness of the staff.
Variety of Fields – Based on the overall number of fields, taking into
consideration the number of speedball, wooded and combination fields and size
of each field.
Pricing (Air, Play, Paint) – Lower price is better (taking into consideration the
quality of the paint).
Restrooms – Port-a-Potties are okay, but solid, well built, restrooms with
running water and air conditioning is better.
Spectator Friendly – Based on the overall number of fields compared to those
that are able to be safely viewed by non-facemask-wearing spectators.
Child Friendly – Based on the number and quality of available opportunities for
children to play safely. Includes items such as playgrounds, sandboxes, etc. as
well as the opportunities for children to play paintball, airsoft, etc.
Gun Quantity and Quality – Based on the number of paintball guns and the
brand/model of those guns, in relation to the number of fields and maximum
number of players at one time.
Referees – Based on the fairness and overall professionalism of the referees.
No favoritism shown to new players or long-time players. Willingness to get into
the middle of a firefight to determine if someone is “hit.” Determination to enforce
the rules of the game, with special emphasis on safety.
